Metamorphosis

Located in Azores, this project explores the ephemeral and transformative nature of architecture through the lens of decay, regeneration, and the interdependency of organic and artificial matter. My work is about understanding the cycles of life, natural processes, and how architecture can become a participant in these ongoing metamorphoses. Inspired by biological processes, landscapes, and symbolic materials, the project investigates how architecture can become a participant in cycles of life and death. Drawing from anatomy, artistic representations, and decaying ecosystems, my designs evolve over time, offering temporary habitats and spaces for reflection. These interventions blur boundaries between permanence and impermanence, growth and disintegration. Rather than resisting decay, the work proposes architecture as a living system — fluid, porous, and symbiotic — where natural and artificial elements cohabit and metamorphose together. It reveals the fragile beauty of transformation. Not architecture as an object, but as a living system: metamorphic, evolving, and shared.
